Editorial Policy

Our standards for specification audits, source validation, and published corrections.

Source Use & Listing Audits

Because overseas factory listings and marketplace resellers often circulate conflicting information, our reporting relies on a strict triangulation process rather than uncritical reprints of marketing copy:

  1. Manufacturer Schematics: Baseline dimensions, processor system-on-chip (SoC) codes, battery capacities, and display panels are pulled directly from primary technical sheets.
  2. Marketplace Cross-Referencing: Reseller descriptions on major retail hubs are audited to identify discrepancies in bundled storage cards, pre-installed software, and included accessories.
  3. Community Firmware Documentation: Public developer releases (such as ArkOS, JELOS, or GarlicOS repos) are cross-checked to verify real-world driver support and performance limits.

Correction Procedures

Handheld revisions, silent hardware modifications, and kernel updates occur frequently in the retro market. When a published device profile contains inaccurate information, our editorial standard is to:

  • Promptly amend erroneous chipset details, screen resolutions, or compatibility ratings.
  • Append a clear revision note at the bottom of the article specifying what was updated and the date of correction.
  • Re-evaluate form factor recommendations if a manufacturer alters hardware components (such as display panel suppliers or button switch types).
